RICE is not only an important grain, but is also part of culture tradition, superstition and religion for many peoples. There are about 7000 varieties of rice grown in flooded paddy fields across the globe, all with different qualities and characteristics. The term rice should be applied to the milled grain only, while the actual plant is known as PADDY.
